Uninstalling EagleGet has two stages: the standard uninstaller, which removes the program, and a manual cleanup, which removes leftover task data and settings. Most people only need the first stage. Do the second stage if you are migrating to another manager and do not want old browser hooks or task lists interfering, or if you…
A SHA-256 hash is a fingerprint of a file: if even one byte changes, the hash changes completely. Comparing the hash of the file you downloaded against a trusted reference value tells you whether your copy matches the reference. It is the single most useful check you can run on a legacy installer — and…
EagleGet sorts downloads into categories based on file type, so documents, software, media, and compressed files can land in different folders without you sorting them by hand. The feature is simple, but it only helps if you set the folders deliberately before your download library grows into a mess. How categories work When you add…
EagleGet’s resume and scheduling features are the reason many people keep it around: a download interrupted by a dropped connection does not have to start over, and large downloads can be queued for a time when the connection is free. In both cases the honest starting point is the same: EagleGet has received no updates since around 2020, its official site is offline, and there is no current official extension listing to…
The short answer is that on current Chrome you probably cannot add the EagleGet extension in a way that works reliably: the official extension is no longer in the Chrome Web Store, and modern Chrome requires the Manifest V3 extension framework, while the EagleGet extension was built for the older Manifest V2 framework. The manual…
EagleGet installs on Windows 11, 10, and 7 from the archived installer linked on the home page, but it is a legacy program: the core downloader still works, while automatic browser integration is unreliable on modern browsers. Install it for direct downloads and clipboard capture, and do not expect the old one-click browser grabber to…
