Affiliate Disclosure
This page explains how eagleget.net earns money. It is short on purpose: you should be able to understand the site’s financial interests in one reading, before you click any product link.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, this site may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked, and they do not change what this site recommends — the comparisons and safety warnings on this site are written first, and affiliate relationships are disclosed second, not the other way around.
Which programs this site uses
At the time this page is published, the affiliate programs this site participates in, or has applied to participate in, are:
- Internet Download Manager (IDM), via SellShareware/Tonec. Links to IDM’s trial and purchase pages may be tracked affiliate links. This site does not publish a fabricated affiliate identifier: until an affiliate identifier is supplied through the official program, IDM links on this site are clean links to IDM’s official pages without tracking.
- pCloud and Backblaze (cloud storage and backup). Links to these services may be tracked affiliate links once affiliate approval is obtained. Until then, links to their official sites are clean links without tracking.
- Amazon. Links to hardware products (such as SSDs, external drives, and routers) may be affiliate search links. Specific product recommendations are added only after a product is chosen and verified; this site does not invent product identifiers or tracking tags.
Programs that are not affiliate relationships are not described as such. Free and open-source tools discussed on this site — including Free Download Manager, Motrix, Xtreme Download Manager, and JDownloader — are linked to their official sites without affiliate tracking, because those projects have no commission program that this site participates in.
How affiliate links are marked
Affiliate links on this site use the /go/ short-link format and carry rel="nofollow sponsored" in the page markup, as search engines and advertising regulators expect. In the visible text, affiliate links appear in the context of a comparison, a buying guide, or a migration recommendation — never disguised as an official download button for EagleGet itself. EagleGet’s own download links (the installer and portable build from the community mirror) are not affiliate links: this site earns nothing from EagleGet downloads.
What affiliate income does not change
- Safety warnings stay safety warnings. A product that pays a commission does not get a softer safety verdict, and a product that pays nothing does not get a harsher one. The safety posts on this site carry no affiliate links at all, deliberately.
- Comparisons stay honest. Where a free tool beats a paid one for a given need, this site says so, even though the free tool pays nothing. Where a paid tool wins, this site says why, and the reader can test the claim through the free trial before paying.
- Unverified claims stay unverified. Affiliate relationships do not upgrade an unverified hash, an unverified version claim, or an unverified performance figure into a fact. Anything this site has not verified is labelled as such, regardless of whether a commission is involved.
Your choices
You are never obliged to use an affiliate link. If you prefer, you can go directly to a product’s official site and buy there — the price to you is the same, and this site simply earns nothing from that purchase. If you do use an affiliate link, thank you: it supports the cost of maintaining this archive and writing these guides, at no extra cost to you.
Questions
If you have questions about a specific link, a specific program, or whether a given link on this site is an affiliate link, contact this site through the contact page. This disclosure will be updated whenever the site joins a new affiliate program or leaves one, so the list above stays accurate.
